what actually gets in the way
six things nobody
tells you
the jump is real
somewhere between sophomore and junior year the work stops being about finishing and starts being about understanding. the study habits that carried you stop carrying you.
ap courses move at college pace
an ap class covers a year of college content in a school year, with a single exam at the end. falling two weeks behind in one is not like falling two weeks behind elsewhere.
junior year stacks
coursework, standardised tests and the start of applications all land in the same twelve months. most of what feels like a motivation problem is a scheduling problem.
gpa is cumulative and slow to move
which means the cheapest fix is the class you are currently sliding in, not the one you already failed.
asking early is worth more than asking well
a question about tonight is small. the same question in april is a unit you have to rebuild.
you do not need a whole tutor
sometimes it is one problem at 11pm. that is a thing you can post, and it is most of what gets posted.
what to post
a photo of the problem, or a sentence about what you did not follow. verified tutors send offers with a price, a rating and a completion rate, and you pick who helps you.
taking ap classes? each one has its own page — see ap courses. the language requirement has one too: spanish.
sitting the sat or act this year? those have their own pages — the sat and the act. writing applications? see college essays.
